Some stories deserve to be heard again.

As Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month comes to a close, we're revisiting a conversation that has stayed with us since it originally aired on February 4, 2026. Tiffaney Childers joined us during the first year of The P-I-G and trusted us with an extraordinarily personal story: losing both of her parents to suicide within a year of each other, living for years with the grief and unanswered questions that followed, and eventually discovering what could happen when she stopped carrying so much of it alone.

But The Rise Back isn't simply a story about suicide or loss. It's a story about what comes after. About surviving. Speaking. Connecting. Healing. Helping others. And gradually learning that moving forward doesn't require leaving behind the people we've lost.

🎙️ Throughout this conversation we explore:

  • The very different circumstances surrounding the loss of each of Tiffaney's parents

  • The complicated grief, anger, guilt, silence, and unanswered questions that can follow suicide loss

  • What it meant to carry so much of her story privately for nearly two decades

  • Why speaking openly about suicide and loss can help loosen the grip of shame and isolation

  • The difference between surviving an experience and beginning to heal from it

  • Tiffaney's work with the L.O.S.S. Team and what it means to show up for families in the immediate aftermath of suicide

  • Finding connection with people who understand a loss we sometimes struggle to explain

  • Learning to allow joy, purpose, love, and hope to coexist with grief

  • What Tiffaney has discovered about herself through telling—and continuing to live—her story

We're revisiting this conversation now because awareness months can help us pay attention. They can give us language, resources, and opportunities to begin conversations that might otherwise remain unspoken.

But the need for those conversations doesn't disappear when the month ends. Neither does grief. Neither does healing. And neither does the opportunity to notice someone who may be struggling, reach toward someone carrying a loss, or find the courage to ask for support ourselves.

Some stories deserve to be heard again.
And some conversations are simply too important to leave in the past.
