The P-I-G: Episode 06
Still Here, Still Standing: Gini’s Journey from Tragedy to Triumph
In 2012, Gini Thomas survived the unthinkable…
A motorcycle accident claimed the life of her husband and nearly took her own. Over the next decade, she would endure 24 surgeries, a traumatic brain injury, and ultimately, the amputation of her right leg.
But this is not a story about tragedy. It’s a story about strength, faith, humor, gratitude—and the grace to keep going. This episode is honest, inspiring, and a reminder that resilience doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes, it looks like quietly showing up—again and again…
🎙️ In this episode, we reflect on:
Sudden, life-altering loss
The long road to healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually
Her decision to become an amputee after years of struggle
Rebuilding life, love, and identity on new terms
Becoming a patient ambassador and advocate for others facing similar paths
April is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, and Gini’s story is a powerful reflection of both. She’s never asked for the spotlight—but her story deserves to be seen, heard, and honored.
