Perspective Changes Everything:
Gini Thomas—Still Standing, One Year Later

Some stories don’t end when the moment passes—they evolve.

One year after first sharing her life-changing story, Gini Thomas returns to The P-I-G to explore what life looks like now. Not in the immediate aftermath of trauma… but in the quiet, ongoing reality of living forward.

After a motorcycle accident took the life of her husband Joe and eventually led to the loss of her leg, Gini’s journey didn’t stop—it continued. Through surgeries, setbacks, healing, growth, and new purpose.

🎙️ This conversation goes beyond survival. It’s about:

  • What it really looks like to rebuild—physically and emotionally

  • How perspective shapes the way we experience both pain and progress

  • The importance of patience, gratitude, and investing in yourself over time

  • Why no two journeys through grief, loss, or recovery are ever the same

In recognition of Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, this episode also brings attention to the broader realities facing the limb loss community—from accessibility challenges to insurance limitations—and the growing efforts to create meaningful change.

Gini also shares her work with the Limb Kind Foundation, including an upcoming mission trip to Ethiopia, where she will help provide prosthetic care to children—extending her impact far beyond her own story.

But at its core, this episode is about perspective. About learning to step back, zoom out, and recognize that even in the hardest moments, there is still something unfolding.

If you haven’t yet listened to Gini’s original episode, we encourage you to start with Episode #6: Still Here, Still Standing. And if you have—this is the continuation you didn’t know you needed.
