Back to Business… But Not Back to Normal:
Summer Reflections & What Comes Next
Eight weeks ago, we stepped away from the microphones with a simple invitation: go live a little more. Make room for wonder. Rest. Friendship. Courage. Adventure. Curiosity. Legacy.
Now we're back. But maybe not quite the same. And definitely not back to normal.
In this candid conversation between sisters, we look back at P-I-G Summer Camp, the childhood experiences that inspired it, and what two very different summers taught us about creating space for the people, experiences, and moments that matter.
We return to Camp Alleghany in West Virginia, where long summer days helped shape our independence, friendships, courage, connection to nature, and understanding of community and legacy. And we reflect on why some of those lessons may be even more important to us as adults than they were when we were children.
🎙️Throughout this conversation we explore:
The lasting impact Camp Alleghany had on our childhoods and the women we became
Wonder, rest, friendship, courage, adventure, and legacy—and what each looked like for us this summer
Why restoration doesn't require an extended vacation or escaping your everyday life
How stepping away can help us become more present with the life we're working so hard to build
The devastating fires, floods, and losses that unfolded around us while we were away
What those losses reminded us about grief, gratitude, hope, and living legacy now
The extraordinary conversations and guests coming next on The P-I-G
Bringing our children behind the microphones for the first time
Why we're finally ready to begin unboxing more of our own story
One of the greatest lessons of this summer may be that restoration isn't really about getting away. It's about becoming more present wherever you happen to be.
Because Summer Camp looked very different for each of us. One of us spent four weeks traveling, camping, and intentionally stepping away from work. The other remained firmly inside the demands of everyday life. Yet both experiences reinforced the same idea: wonder, rest, friendship, courage, and adventure don't require a particular destination. Sometimes they begin simply by paying closer attention.
And while we were doing that, life kept happening. Fires. Floods. Heartbreaking losses close to home. Reminders that joy and grief can occupy the same season—and that legacy takes on a different meaning when someone doesn't get all the years they expected.
Somewhere in the middle of reflecting on all of it, this conversation also takes a turn we didn't plan.
After a year and a half of asking our guests to unbox the experiences that shaped their lives, we're realizing we're ready to open more of our own boxes, bring the next generation into the conversation, and share more of the stories we've kept mostly outside these microphones.
Because sometimes stepping away doesn't bring us back to normal.
Sometimes it gives us the clarity to decide what comes next.

One of the greatest lessons of this summer may be that restoration isn't really about getting away. It's about becoming more present wherever you happen to be.
